Oval Unalaska Spirit Grass Necklace
Description
This necklace is very special to me as an artist. A small scene shows a glimpse of grass from the tiny island (on the Aleutian Chain) of Unalaska, Alaska where my mother is from. The 24k gold leaf background represents the iconic art from the Russian Orthodox Church (a long time faith to the people of the island) and the blades of grass showing rich color and patterns representing the individual people keeping the native Unangan culture alive. Each one is handmade and will be unique in grass shapes and color.

Materials
This pendant is handmade with polymer clay. The background is wrapped in 24k gold leaf. The chain and findings are 24k gold electroplated brass and are lead and nickel free.
Jewelry Care
Put jewelry on after using face and hair products. Pieces can be gently wiped with slight damp cloth and then dried with cloth if need be. Keep out of direct sunlight. To slow oxidation of metal from tarnishing, keep in box.
